  • What is the recommended daily intake of the gravy?

For every 10kg that your dog weighs, 1 teaspoon (4g) of powder should be mixed with 2 teaspoons (10ml) of warm water of approx. 40 degrees. Add more water if a more soupy texture is preferred. A healthy dog should drink c. 40 ml of water per kilogram of its body weight per day.

  • What is the shelf-life?

6 months once opened. This assumes that it is stored in a cool and dry place and is tightly sealed using the cap.

  • Can the gravy be consumed if my dog is on a diet?

Yes - the gravy is hypoallergenic and grain-free so can generally be eaten as part of a prescription diet or medicine. Please see below for dogs with kidney failure.

However, although we state that the gravy is hypoallergenic, no food is truly without risk of causing an allergic reaction in your dog. Every dog can be allergic to something different - hypoallergenic foods just decrease the likelihood of an allergic reaction happening. Please do check with your vet for more information

  • Can the gravy be consumed by a pregnant dog?

Yes it can! It would be a great way to encourage your dog to drink more water.

  • Is the gravy suitable for dogs with kidney (renal) failure?

In summary, so long as you feed your dog in accordance with their recommended daily intake of protein (which should be provided by the vet), this gravy is suitable for dogs with kidney failure and can be used to entice them to eat up their foods!

Protein, sodium and phosphorus should be reduced for dogs with kidney failure depending on the severity of the disease. Please speak to the vet for further information on the extent to which these should be reduced.

The recommended range of protein for dogs with kidney failure is less than or equal to 14-20%.

You should take the protein amount in our gravy into account alongside the other foods your dog is eating when feeding your dog the gravy.

The gravy does not contain sodium nor phosphorus.

  • What is chicken liver hydrolysate?

Chicken liver hydrolysate is a nutritional, hypoallergenic hydrolysate powder that is obtained from fresh, human food-grade chicken livers. It has high protein content, high digestibility and is very palatable. We have specifically chosen this ingredient because chicken liver is more sustainable and better for the environment - there are less consumers of offal in general and we want to avoid food wastage as much as possible.

  • Why is there added sunflower oil in the gravy?

Sunflower oil mainly helps dogs to maintain a healthy coat and skin.

  • Why is there added yeast in the gravy?

The added yeast improves the gravy's digestibility.

  • Why are B vitamins added into the gravy?

B vitamins play a key role in a dog's diet and they are supplementary to vitamins that are already present in the meat and organs. This is why they are added as opposed to other vitamins which your dog is already consuming as part of their diet. In the gravy, there are:

  • Vitamin B1 - known as thiamine, this is essential for dogs to maintain optimal health. Thiamine is required to maintain brain and other high energy organs for proper function as it is used for carbohydrate metabolism.
  • Vitamin B2 - known as riboflavin, this is also used for carbohydrate metabolism. It is a vitamin which helps with your dog's fur health and quality.
  • Vitamin B6 - known as pyridoxine, this vitamin helps boost immune system function by driving red blood cells production.

The above B vitamins complex is formulated by experienced animal nutritionists.

  • Where does the gravy powder come from?

Ingredients are sourced from Italy and the gravy powder is manufactured in the EU to the highest safety standards (FAMI-QS and GMP+ certified).

  • Can I feed the gravy to puppies?

For puppies older than 8 weeks, you may feed as per the recommended daily intake and reduce main meals accordingly. Please make sure that they are getting a balanced diet.

  • Are there smaller sizes of the gravy product?

Not yet - possibly in the future. Please keep an eye out!

  • How can I feed my dog the gravy?

There are many pawssibilities!

The gravy can be added to existing wet and dry foods that your dog eats and enjoys as a supplement! If your dog prefers powder, just sprinkle over existing foods.

The gravy can be added to human-grade foods such as chicken breast, turkey breast, beef and lamb. Please note that this should be done as a treat. Make sure that these meats are free of oils or seasonings as these additions can upset your dog's stomach! Do not give the dog the fatty bits as this can lead to health complications.

The gravy can be mixed with more warm water to form a chicken soup. Can be cooled down in the hot days.

Subject to the vet's agreement, oral medication can be mixed with the gravy to encourage the dog to ingest it.

  • How long should leftovers be kept?

In respect of wet foods, please clingfilm any leftovers then put them in the fridge immediately after opening. Use within 2 days.

Wet food should only be left out up to 2 hours indoors at room temperature.

Dry foods can safely be left out for several days.

Please ensure you feed your dog using clean bowls / plates.

  • What if my dog doesn't like the gravy?

It is possible that your dog is not a fan of the gravy. From customer reviews, many of the dogs like the product and it takes a bit of convincing as it is a new product! You can still mix the gravy with foods they do like and it is likely they will finish their meal. The gravy works as a good supplement containing protein and B vitamins (which do not interfere with the existing foods) to support health. Win, win both ways.

  • Why the price?

The price reflects that we use high-quality ingredients plus it has 30+ servings (depending on the size of your dog) which means you save money as well as time buying multiple packets of dog soup or gravy servings. The long shelf-life (6 months once opened) means you will not have to keep replenishing the gravy.

  • Is the packaging recyclable?

Our packaging is made using HDPE plastic which is 100% recyclable. Unfortunately our manufacturer at the moment cannot facilitate the use of packaging alternative to this plastic. We remain very conscious of this and are working towards the goal of being completely plastic-free.

  • Where else are the gravy products sold?

We currently sell on Amazon and will be launching into many other new stores soon!
